Photography Instructor Chuck Place

Santa Barbara Photography Workshops & Classes is here to help you develop your creative eye, with posts covering a wide range of photographic techniques and others that help you discover your own unique vision. Our blog posts, classes and workshops help you make the important transition from taking pictures to creating images.

Our lead photography instructor is Chuck Place, who has worked as an editorial photographer for over thirty five years, specializing in travel, food, aerial and people. His assignment clients include National Geographic Traveler, Sunset, Islands, Time and Smithsonian Books and Place is the sole photographer of six books.

Chuck has also spent much of the last fifteen years sharing his love of photography with a wide range of students. Many of those years were spent as an instructor at the prestigious Brooks Institute, and since it’s closure, as an instructor at the various programs at Santa Barbara City College and through private tutoring. Chuck’s classes are packed with information and insights, but have a loose, informal feel and some include location shoots at a variety of locations around Santa Barbara County. For a schedule of Chuck’s SBCC classes, please go to Chuck Place Classes and contact Chuck directly for private tutoring. The portfolio site for Chuck Place can be viewed at Chuck Place Photography Portfolio Site .

Posts by other Central Coast photography instructors will be showcased periodically with links to their classes. It is our hope that this blog proves to be a valuable resource for all photography enthusiasts in our area. Please support this effort by signing up on the Contact Page for e-mail notifications of new blog posts. Take a look at our newest post Here and let us know if there is a photography topic that you would like to see covered more thoroughly. Thanks for stopping by.
